In the most recent “Top 100 in Logistics” ranking, logistics provider DACHSER moved up one place in the German market and is now the logistics company with the third-highest revenue. In the segment „landbound groupage“ DACHSER maintains its first position.
The report on the top 100 logistics companies in Europe, published by the Fraunhofer Center for Applied Research on Supply Chain Services SCS in conjunction with industry journal DVZ and the German Logistics Association (BVL), paints a picture of the 100 logistics companies in Germany with the strongest revenue.
In this year’s report, DACHSER has overtaken logistics and freight forwarding company Kühne + Nagel, according to a pre-announcement by DVZ. The top spots go to Deutsche Post DHL and Deutsche Bahn.
In the overall ranking, the study reports total revenue (disregarding collaborations and consolidated revenue) for the top 100 logistics companies in 2017 of some EUR 64.4bn (EUR 60.6bn in 2015). This indicates that the logistics sector grew by some 6.3 percent in each of the past two years. Taking just the ten logistics companies with the highest revenue alone, including DACHSER, the study shows that combined revenue in 2017 amounted to some EUR 34.2bn. That is EUR 1.9bn more than in the 2015 report. This means these ten companies experienced growth that was somewhat greater than the overall growth in logistics volume.
Published every year since 1995, the “Top 100 in Logistics” report is the most detailed study of the German and European logistics market. It includes rankings of the biggest logistics companies in Germany and in a further 28 European countries, as well as rankings for all German and European logistics market categories.
