The global cruise industry is fast-growing, and the growth will continue in the years to come. For the last two decades, Blue Water has grown with the industry – providing transport and logistics to the cruise lines, vendors to the industry and shipyards.
“Blue Water Cruise Logistics started in 1999, when we were awarded a logistics contract for a large Cruise Line based in USA and Rotterdam, Holland. Our activities grew to a global scale, and now we have nine dedicated Blue Water offices focusing on Cruise & Marine Logistics, “says Kasper Diaz Sommer, Global Head of Marine Logistics in Blue Water.
“Our success is based on having the right people with the right experience, dedication and an agile mindset for always being able to find the right solution. This, combined with a strong global network of Blue Water offices and reliable close partners, enable us to offer unique end-to-end deliveries with a strong understanding of the various needs of our clients,” says Kasper Diaz Sommer.
Every day, Blue Water’s team of experienced Cruise and Marine Experts work hard to create the right solution for each client. We are able to offer a global one-stop shop within the Cruise and Marine Industry, as we are capable of supplying all types of transport and logistics services – including technical consolidation, food & beverage consolidation, critical ship spares, warehousing, special certificate handling, customs brokerage, on-pier services, on-site management, dry dock and newbuild management.
“The maritime industry needs reliable, creative and flexible solutions providing an optimised supply chain to ensure the highest return on each asset. We see it as our goal to provide these solutions and thereby strengthen our clients’ business”, states Kasper Diaz Sommer.
Important IT systems
It is important to provide visibility and transparency across the supply chain in the Cruise Industry, as there is high complexity due to the variety of vendors, commodities and customs regulations – and the consignee is a moving target: a cruise vessel on a tight schedule.
Efficient workflows and overview are created by Blue Water’s package of IT systems, Compass, containing purchase order, warehouse and transport management as well as document & certificate management.
“We provide our customers with transparency and visibility to ensure an optimised Supply Chain from vendor to on board the vessel”, says Rasmus Øllgaard, Global Business Development Manager, Marine Logistics US.
